Code of Conduct


Carr & Day & Martin Ltd has always and will always be a company committed to contributing towards our local and wider communities both within the UK and internationally and comply with all applicable national laws and regulations.  Our commitment to this is within a number of areas with the aim of ensuring appropriate human rights, labour rights, environment and anti-corruption measures are in place for both ourselves and our suppliers.

Carr & Day & Martin Ltd Code of Conduct aims to summarise our policies and procedures and applies to all direct employees, including those on short term contracts or those who are part time, Suppliers of the company and any sub-supplier involved in the supply chain.  It is the responsibility of the Supplier to confirm acceptance of the Code of Conduct and to ensure that any sub-supplier involved in the supply chain is compliant with all the principles of this Code of Conduct.


Carr & Day & Martin Ltd build strong relationships with all of our Suppliers with the aim of establishing long term working partnerships.  This approach is taken to ensure quality of supply and to also ensure that we only work with Suppliers who we have fully assessed and who agree to work under our code of conduct.

It is an expectation that all Suppliers will also comply with applicable national laws and regulations and should also comply with this Code of Conduct and should there be a conflict between this Code of Conduct and the applicable national laws or regulations this must be highlighted to Carr & Day & Martin Ltd by the Supplier to allow an evaluation of the conflict to be performed.

All Suppliers are required to complete initial approval documentation which is reviewed by all relevant departments prior to acceptance.  This approval will then be routinely reviewed and reassessed or if there are concerns over the quality of the product or the compliance to the Code of Conduct of the Supplier, the review may be brought forward.  Carr & Day & Martin reserve the right to terminate agreements with Suppliers if either the quality of the product does not meet requirements or the Supplier repeatedly failed to meet the required standards of the company Code of Conduct.

Equality & Diversity

Carr & Day & Martin Ltd is committed to providing equality of opportunity and eliminating discrimination in employment and training.

Health, Safety & Welfare

Carr & Day & Martin Ltd are committed to continual improvement and ensuring the health, safety and welfare of all its employees.  We will also seek to conduct our activities so as to prevent any injury or harm to contractors, clients and visitors.  All steps will be taken to ensure that our statutory duties are met at all times.

Every employee must cooperate with Carr & Day & Martin Ltd to be able all statutory duties to be complied with and requires total commitment from all employees and Suppliers.

Each employee will be given such information, instruction, supervision and training as is necessary to enable the safe performance of all relevant work activities.

Adequate facilities and arrangements will be maintained to enable employees and their representatives to consult on, and raise, health and safety issues.  Competent people will be appointed to assist Carr & Day & Martin Ltd in meeting our statutory duties including, where appropriate, specialists from outside organisations.

Waste Management

Carr & Day & Martin Ltd views responsible waste management as essential to reducing its environmental footprint and to providing a safe and healthy work environment for all employees and visitors.

A range of waste management strategies are undertaken by Carr & Day & Martin Ltd with prevention and minimisation of waste material creation being to most important method of waste management.  With this focus, Carr & Day & Martin maximise the conservation of natural resources and reduces the potential for environmental harm through effective waste management systems of recycling and reusing waste products where ever possible and by encouraging customer to recycle packaging appropriately.

Carr & Day & Martin Ltd have written procedures for the disposal or both hazardous and non-hazardous waste and only used approved hazardous waste disposal companies approved by local authorities for the safe disposal of all hazardous waste.

Any chemicals which are used by Carr & Day & Martin Ltd are used under written procedures to ensure the safe handling and use of chemicals within the storage and manufacturing process.


Carr & Day & Martin Ltd maintain accurate records of all activities from Equality & Diversity, Health, Safety & Welfare and Waste Management to ensure that all activities, when required are traceable without falsification or misrepresentation to all appropriate parties.

Animal Testing

As a company, Carr & Day & Martin Ltd are committed to the wellbeing of animals, and as such can confirm that none of our general products will be tested on animals.  As a company we also extend that expectation out to all Suppliers of materials used within those products.

Giving Something Back

Carr & Day & Martin Ltd work with a number of local charities throughout the year with the aim of providing support through provision of volunteers and assistance in money raising activities.  The Company has participated in a number of activities from park clean-ups, soup kitchen volunteering, horse sanctuary maintenance work and raises money for two nominated charities each year by organising activities such as car washes, bake sales, fantasy football leagues and dress down days.

Suppliers of Carr & Day & Martin Ltd are also encouraged to participate in similar activities in the communities in which they operate.
